Sara Curtin Premieres New Song “V Day”, New Album ‘Michigan Lilium’ Out July 24

 “One of D.C.’s finest” (-brightestyounthings.com), Sara Curtin premiers her song “V D A Y” on CMJ.com today. The song will also appear on her sophomore release Michigan Lilium available July 24, 2015.As one half of the DC-based folk-pop duo The Sweater Set, Curtin trades her acoustic for an electric guitar on the first single, a “sultry solo track ‘Summer’ inspired by D’Angelo” (-Washington City Paper).

The song was also a featured “Daily Discovery” onAmerican Songwriter and AudioFemme.com premiered “Careless” earlier this month.

Earlier this year, Curtin released an alternate stripped down finger picked version of “Careless” for submission to NPR’s Tiny Desk competition that was championed by both WAMU and The Washington City Paper.

Michigan Lilium was produced and recorded by Sara Curtin (vocals, guitar, percussion and synth) in her Washington D.C. apartment. Rounding out the album is Ian Chang (Son Lux, Body Language) on bass and Spencer Zahn (Twin Shadows, Empress Of) on drums, their parts recorded by Jeff Berner at Galuminum Foil Productions in Brooklyn who also mixed the album.
