The View has released a brand new video for the track “Under The Rug“. The jangly single is a prime example of the vibrant, rollicking indie rock sound captured on the Scottish outfit’s new album, Ropewalk, out now via Slimstyle Records.
For its fifth studio album, The View enlisted Albert Hammond, Jr. of The Strokes and producer/engineer Gus Oberg to co-produce Ropewalk at Clouds Hill studios in Hamburg. “It felt like a massive compliment to have them wanting to work with us,” shares Kyle Falconer (singer/guitarist). “A lot of producers just like the actual sound, but Albert and Gus sat down and went through all the songs one by one. We’d never done that before.”
Rounded out by Falconer, Kieren Webster (bass), Pete Reilly (guitars) and Steve Morrison (drums), The View exploded out of Dundee, Scotland nearly a decade ago. With four albums and a greatest hits collection under its belt, the hard-gigging, hard-partying four-piece has earned numerous top 20 singles and award nominations for its fine balance between ambitious rock and raucous pop hooks.
The View will be touring actively in the U.K. this fall, with plans for an extensive global tour to be announced soon.
