Big Jesus Unveil New Single “Felt In Reverse”

Big Jesus is a young rock band out of Atlanta a la My Bloody Valentine or Jesus and Mary Chain : “ethereal rock n’ roll fusing fuzz-laden tones and soft, melodic vocals to create the surreal feel of a Fellini film.”

Noisey premiered their first single last month, calling it “a nod to Deftones” – but with dreamier vocals and a more spaced out vibe – and compared the vocalist to Billy Corgan or Silversun Pickups’ Brian Aubert – “but he’s more relaxed than either,” they said, “happy to sit on top of the mix and drive it home rather than battle the concrete guitars around him.” They’ve “been causing a stir in their local scene…marrying hardcore influences with 90s guitar rock sensibilities and melodies that are pure scuzzy pop.”

The band’s new album is titled Oneiric, meaning “dreamlike,” and was produced by Deftones’ producer Matt Hyde. Alternative Press featured them in the latest issue, calling the music “Sludgy, grungy riffs mixed with airy, melodic vocals,” and saying they “tear up the rulebook on the genre.” They were just confirmed for a European tour with Good Charlotte and the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival, alongside Tool, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, etc.
