What made you want to pursue your dream in music?

I gotta guitar my senior year of high school, and immediately knew I’d chase music as far down the rabbit hole as I could get. I got more serious in college when I started putting music on Myspace and people responded, and it’s been growing and evolving ever since!

Who is your biggest musical inspiration?

John Mayer and Ryan Tedder. I love how they make great pop music without losing the integrity of a song. Every song is meaningful and true. It adds depth to the experience, which I appreciate, and always want to have in my own music.

What message do you want fans to hear when they listen to your music?

I want to make them dance, cry, laugh, or think. I want them to hear the full spectrum of the human experience from the heavy stuff to the light stuff, and challenge people to engage in art and the world around them, but to do that without taking themselves too serious in the process.

If you could have a drink or coffee with any musician, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you ask them?

Dang. That’s a tough one. I think I’d probably pick Carole King, and I’d ask her about Tapestry. All of those songs are so catchy and strong melodically, and the lyrics are just as strong. Great pop stories. I’d ask her how the heck she did it haha.

Who is your dream person or band to go on tour with?

John Mayer! And he brings me out every night of the tour and let’s me sing “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” it’s an amazing dream! (laughs)
