An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime. And you better believe a couple of industry veterans like Right Said Fred know it. The sibling duo best known for their 1991 hit “I’m Too Sexy” got an unexpected windfall earlier this year when Taylor Swift interpolated “Sexy” for her “Look What You Made Me Do” single, giving brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass a songwriting credit on the single that just logged its third week atop the Billboard Hot 100.
They also definitely know how to have some fun, which is what they’re recorded a new live mash-up video premiering exclusively today on Billboard. “We were in the studio with a new drummer and bass player, trying out some new ideas and different beats,” Fred Fairbrass tells Billboard. “We started playing ‘I’m Too Sexy’ and it just morphed into a live mash-up with Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ — it sounded great so we decided to record and film it!”
In celebration of the Swift track, the band released the I’m Too Sexy EP on September 1st, which features a re-recording of the original single along with an electro swing and deep house remix.
