Elizabeth and the Catapult will release Keepsake this Friday, October 20. It is her most personal and cohesive record yet, comprised of both upbeat and sentimental songs, many of which came to her in dreams.
Keepsake was produced by Dan Molad and Peter Lalish from Lucius, Rob Moose (Bon Iver, Antony and the Johnsons, Joan as Policewoman) and Richard Swift (The Shins) and today, we present the auspicious “Ambrosia“, a song that encourages life during loss.
“I had some people in my life pass away this year, so I wanted to write a song about the different ways people might process loss,” Elizabeth shares about the track. “In this fictional story, young Ambrosia’s mother is sick and is encouraging the family to try and celebrate life with her during her last living days. The song is intentionally poppy and upbeat to juxtapose the dark subject matter with something light and hopeful.”
Elizabeth and the Catapult will be performing ‘In The Round’ for a unique album release show at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC this Wednesday, October 18 at 8:30pm. Tickets can be purchased HERE for $12 in advance and $15 day of show. Additional performances have been announced for December with more to be added. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
