Blue October just released the lyric video for “I Hope You’re Happy,” the title track from the band’s upcoming album which is due out in the Summer of 2018.
Lead vocalist Justin Furstenfeld posted this message to fans about the upcoming album:
Well, here we are again. We have entered the studio to start making our ninth studio album, titled “I Hope You’re Happy”. Can you believe that? We have been blessed over all these years to have you all become part of our Blue October family – and it does feel like a family. As you know, we’ve been doing this all independently since Any Man In America.
It takes quite a lot of resources to not only make great sounding records but even more to market and promote them worldwide. Many of you have been with us through several crowdfunding campaigns over the past few years and now we’re going to start doing that independently ourselves as well.
In this store, you’ll find all sorts of cool pre-order items and experiences related to the new album. Do whatever you are comfortable with. If you’d like to just pre-order a digital download of the new album, that’s awesome. Want to be a roadie for a day on our upcoming 2018 tour – fantastic. You decide how much you’d like to be involved in this new adventure with us.
We’re hoping for a Summer 2018 release of I Hope You’re Happy, we’re just not sure yet if that will be early, mid or late Summer – but Summer for sure. So these items you order won’t ship until the week of release and that date may move slightly, but we’ll let you know well in advance.
Also, instead of a closed system to get updates, I want to update everyone, every day on our progress. To do that please follow us on Instagram – you’ll see the daily making of the album over the upcoming months.
We can’t wait to see you all in 2018.
The band has also released concert dates for their I Hope You’re Happy Tour which kicks off on 4/18 in Little Rock. Dates for the tour can be found below. The new album is available for pre-order HERE.
